Championing the Rights of Workers in California
David Lee, the founder of David Lee Law, APC, is a renowned Los Angeles employment attorney dedicated to fighting for the rights of workers across California. His journey in the legal realm began in a small firm in Southern California, representing small businesses. However, David's deep-rooted desire to stand up for the "little guy" led him to pivot his career towards representing exclusively workers since starting his own law practice in 2016.
As an employment attorney, David specializes in representing individuals in single plaintiff cases against major corporations. He handles cases involving wrongful termination, discrimination (including race, age, gender, pregnancy, disability, CFRA), sexual harassment, whistleblower retaliation, and unpaid wages. While adept in PAGA and class action lawsuits alongside his team, David finds his true calling in championing individual clients' rights in Los Angeles and throughout California.
David's educational background includes a Psychology degree from UCLA and a law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. His active participation in mock trials and ADR competitions has shaped his approach as a Los Angeles employment lawyer. As a dedicated member of the California Employment Lawyers Association (CELA), and Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), he is admitted to practice in all California courts.
In 2023 and 2024, David's expertise as a Los Angeles employment attorney was recognized by his peers when he was named a Southern California Super Lawyer and Rising Star.
Originally from Seoul, Korea, David immigrated to Los Angeles as a young child and later grew up in San Francisco. Raised in a hardworking family, his mother earned minimum wage at a time when it was less than $4 an hour, and his father working multiple jobs. Those humble beginnings continue to shape who he is today, and his mother remains his greatest inspiration.
David also took care of his family while working, giving him firsthand insight into the importance of the California Family Rights Act (CFRA) intermittent leave. He also personally experienced workplace retaliation after raising concerns and “blowing the whistle” while working for a former employer. These experiences shaped his sense of purpose and confirmed his calling to advocate for employees facing CFRA discrimination and retaliation. Thus, David has always had a personal connection with his clients dealing with similar issues at the workplace.
David lives in Los Angeles and he enjoys traveling with his wife and Maltese.
